Steve Smith signs with the Ravens

Steve Smith has signed a three-year deal with the Baltimore Ravens, according to a league source.

Smith flew to Baltimore on Thursday night and met with head coach John Harbaugh. The two sides reached an agreement Friday.

The Panthers released the franchise's all-time leading receiver on Thursday after 13 seasons in Carolina.

The Ravens and Panthers will play in Baltimore in 2014. The NFL schedule will be released in April. Smith said Thursday there will be "blood and guts" when he plays against Carolina.

Smith said Thursday it would be imperative the team that signs him understands his family obligations. Smith's wife, Angie, is pregnant with their fourth child, and he's due the first week of July and Smith plans to be with her.

Training camp would not get underway until late July.

Gettleman is a bleeping idiot. The production of the 2014 Panthers WR corps is squarely on him.
