Kuechly leads Pro Bowl voting; Newton, Davis not in top 10

Panthers middle linebacker Luke Kuechly remains the leading vote-getter among inside linebackers after the second round of Pro Bowl fan balloting, which was announced Wednesday.

Kuechly, the reigning NFL defensive player of the year, is tied with Tampa Bay's Lavonte David for the league lead in tackles with 116.

Panthers tight end Greg Olsen, who has never been to a Pro Bowl, is currently fifth in the fan balloting, which makes up a third of the voting. The players and coaches comprise the remaining two-thirds.

Four tight ends will go to the Pro Bowl, which will be in Phoenix the week before the Super Bowl is there.

New England's Rob Gronkowski leads the voting among tight ends, followed by Denver's Julius Thomas, New Orleans' Jimmy Graham and San Diego's Antonio Gates.

Quarterback Cam Newton, who has been to two Pro Bowls, is not ranked among the top 10 at his position. Newton, who has 12 touchdowns and 10 interceptions, is behind the likes of Cleveland's Brian Hoyer, who is 10th in the voting.

Outside linebacker Thomas Davis, who also is looking for his first Pro Bowl berth, is not in the top 10 at his position, either.

The only other two Panthers' players in the top 10 in the fan balloting are center Ryan Kalil (7th) and cornerback Antoine Cason (8th).

Kalil has been to four Pro Bowls. Cason, who is tied for the league lead with four forced fumbles, has never been selected.

Good to see Luke get the recognition he deserves.

Olsen deserves to go; unfortunately he is up against some superstar tight ends whose teams are winning; the Panthers' record doesn't help.

Thomas Davis also deserves a trip; coming back from three surgeries, he plays his butt off on every play.

The fact that Cam is not in the top 10 is not surprising, his Total QB rating is 24th out of 32. He's behind both Tampa QB's, Mike Glennon and Josh McCown. He is leading in Sacks though...

Cam has sucked the past three years. He should of never went to the pro bowl last year, he didn't deserve it. Our defense covered up his bad play last year!!!

Any member of the Panthers' secondary going to the Pro Bowl would be very unlikely; unless they want somebody to run the chains or something...

And to top it off he wants to play to win and not throw the season away,NEWS FLASH! season is already lost if you really want to play to win then lose the remaining games so we will get great draft position next year and try to rebuild, This organization is a joke in the NFL and I don`t understand why the owner is not furious, I want you to be honest with yourself when Cam gets time to throw does he throw on target or are they still off target,See if he gets time to throw and is off target then its not the O-lines fault on that play its Cams fault. PLEASE STOP WITH THE WERE STILL IN IT CRAP.I still see a receiver open on replay 5 to 8 yards out but Cam does not even look his way and throws a long pass instead thats incomplete??????GO FIGURE

look lose the next 4 and were probably going to pick around 3 in the draft next year,That will get us Gross`s replacement and more .So don`t get to upset if we lose the remaining because its only going to help us next year, This year was toast a few games back and is not worth jepordizing the players we need next year
