DeAngelo Williams inactive vs. Falcons

Despite being listed as probable for Sunday's game at Atlanta, Panthers running back DeAngelo Williams is inactive for the game against the Falcons.

Williams has been dealing with a broken bone in his right hand since getting injured against the Vikings four weeks ago. He has been practicing with a cast on his right hand, but the issue has been how well he can pass block.

Williams didn't do enough late in the week to satisfy Panthers coaches that he would not be a liability in the backfield for blitz pickup and pass protection.

Running back Jonathan Stewart, whose 437 rushing yards the past four games are the most in the NFL in that span, will get the start.

Cornerback James Dockery, safety Robert Lester, linebacker A.J. Klein (ankle), defensive tackle Kyle Love, tackle David Foucault and guard Amini Silatolu are also inactive for Carolina.

I am not sure why I want to see D.W. back on Saturday? Since he's been out with his injury we have done much better thanks to J. Stew. If it' not broke, why try to fix it?

I agree^ I'd like to see him be used in a screen pass here and there, but not running the ball.

Huge win by the Panthers without Williams. Hopefully he gets healthy this week and comes out full strength vs. the Arizona Cardinals.
