Cam Newton makes cameo on Be Like Mike video

Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton makes a cameo appearance in Gatorade's new "Be Like Mike" video, a tribute to NBA legend and Charlotte Hornets owner Michael Jordan.

Considering Newton and Jordan are both Gatorade pitch men, as well as neighbors in an upscale Charlotte condominium, using Newton in the 1-minute spot was a natural fit.

Bryce Harper, Serena Williams and Usain Bolt also are featured in the video, which will air online and on Gatorade's social media platforms.

During the NBA All-Star weekend in February, Gatorade rolled out a digitally re-mastered version of the "Be Like Mike" ad, which first appeared 23 years ago (23 being Jordan's iconic uniform number, of course).

The sports drink giant also is re-launching Jordan's favorite Gatorade flavor. Citrus Cooler is now available with a retro label throughout the country.

Don't want to be like Cam, cause Cam is still AWFUL! Even children are calling Cam out now. LMFAO!

Cam is awful, why so many negative comments on Cam? We all know by now, your dislike for the man. Anyone that knows football, know that Cam is not bad as you say he is. No quarterback have done so much with so little. You put any other quarterback behind that makeshift line and with that receiving core and their numbers be the same if not worse. Many wouldn't be able to be elusive behind that lineup. So until Gettleman decide to put a better offensive line and better weapons at the wideouts, then you and anyone else who's a Cam hater need to think before you make negative statements.

Cam is one of the best young QBs in the game. He has had to play every year lacking the OL and weapon support of the other young guns in the NFL.

It's pretty sad that so-called fans have no clue about who he plays with. The WRS rated the worst in the league last and the OL ... well you get the point.

But what should you expect from a bunch of basement dwellers, who couldn't make their middle school teams?

Haters gonna hate. Until they can even make the practice squad, why feed the trolls?
