There were 80 people in the food line, which snaked around the corner and into the hallway. That's not rare in the Super Bowl Media Center. All day long somebody hands you a piece of food and a piece of paper.
But this was different. The cuisine featured shepard pie, bread as hard as plywood and roasted root vegetables.
NFL International held a news conference to promote next season's regular season game in London. New Orleans and San Diego ought to be thrilled to have the opportunity to play. The New York Giants and Miami played in London this season. The former is in the Super Bowl and the latter has the first pick in the draft.
Attending the news conference were reporters from Europe, England, New Orleans and San Diego as well as fans of shepard pie and roasted root vegetables. The U.S. was heavily outnumbered.
The root vegetables are as red as the bread is hard. I don't think our leading vegetables should consider them a threat.
