Today is Media Day at the Super Bowl. The first time I went, I was mesmerized. The day is a testament to performance art.
Many questions are purposefully dumb. Men and women dress as characters -- Don King, small harmless animals, super heroes. There are so many performers that your basic who-what-where-when-why no longer applies. Players are reduced to straight men. I had never seen anything like it. I don't know if anybody has.
Serious reporters often bristle. But Media Day is supposed to be a testament to wretched excess. If not, the small, harmless animals could not get credentials.
