Chris Leak, the former Independence high school and Florida star, is expected to start at quarterback Friday for Montreal in a Canadian Football League game against the B.C. Lions. Leak backs up Anthony Calvillo, formerly of Utah State, and one of the best quarterbacks in CFL history. Calvillo injured his ankle, however, and will not be available.
Fans used to lobby the Panthers to pick up Leak and lobby the media to lobby the Panthers. Carolina refained, but Chicago and Kansas City gave him a look. Leak was so good under Tom Knotts at Independence, flinging the ball like a high school version of the New Orleans Saints.
So dominating was he that fans assumed he always would be a star.
Maybe he will be. Leak, who signed with the Alouettes in 2008, is only 25.

I beleive.

I'm surprised Calvillo hasn't gotten a chance to audition for an NFL team.
