As much as anyone might want it to happen, it just never will... this organization will not do something that out of character when they're pretty much out of the playoff picture completely. Yes, it might add some intrigue, but I just don't see it happening.

Cedric

Go get Moss! It would make the team a lot more interesting and it would spread the defense so Stewart can run a little. Oh yeah, go get McNabb too!

adam carter

I personally like the ideal, but he at best would be a 9 game rental. With this elemetary school offense, it wouldn't make much of a difference.

For one, do they even game plan against teams? To me no, by seeing the same borning vanilla offense of run, run, pass, punt.

Moss and Smith would be great, but he should look for a playoff team at a chance to win a ring.

adam carter

@Cedric

Have you seen how Mcnabb had performed the past 2-4 games or season? Luckly the defense had won them games, throwing dirt ball passes majority of the time.

I say if Mcnabb leaves as a FA at the end of the year, hell yeah they need to sign him. But trading high picks for him? I don't think so.

Looks like to me Mike S will be looking to draft his own franchise QB in next years draft.

But what was the purpose of Mike S giving up 2 good quality picks for a 1year rental? The same bonehead moves had got him fired in Denver, won't be long before Dan S fires him.

PantherDave

I'd like to see it, but when you're 1-6 what's the point? Season is already done. If we at least had a reputable QB situation though, it might be worth pursuing. But we all know that's not the case.

adam carter

I wonder what happends if Hurney was to sign Moss, would he still be consider as the worst GM by a mile or league? That's all I have been hearing from the complainers.

Will they sign Moss to a 2 thru 3 year deal, instead of a 9 game rental? Don't know about that.

If the did, would the vanilla playcalling change of run, run, pass, punt? Probably not.

Rahshon Gamble

ARE U ON CRACK
MOSS DOESNT WANT TO BE A TEAM WITH DRAMA SURFACING AROUND IT LIKE THE PANTHERS, THE PANTHERS ARE A TEAM WITH NO IDENTY AND ARE RE-BUILDING AND DONT NEED MOSS TO SUFFER WITH US, I WAS HOPEING WE TRADE SMITH AND DEANGLO AND GET SOME MORE DRAFT TRUST ME WERE GOING TO NEED THEM

big daddy

It would never happen, Panthers wouldnt take Vick when they had the chance so we know they wont take Moss and besides why would he want to come to these losers anyway????

adam carter

Vick was offer a 2nd round pick, who barely played last year. Why would they have surrender such a high draft pick? Knowing this fanbase if Vick doesn't perform well worth the pick, Hurney will let be thrown under the bus for trading for a mediocre player.

@ Rahson G

Are you on crack, especially with the CAP's? What was the purpose of using your whole sentence with it anyway?

jeff

As Mr. Henry Rollins might say, "do it, do it, do it, do it, DO IIIITT! DO IIITT!

Authority

As they say, 'what do we have to lose'? We're only 2nd to Buffalo on the waiver wire, so this is a free pickup with no obligation.

Sign him and give him 2 plays, "go deep" and "go deeper". The worst thing that could happen is he's a decoy. Heck, let him return kickoffs and punts.

Stephen

For the league minimum, Richardson could continue being cheap. At worst he would be a great decoy to get triple coverage off Smith. At best he could be great in our offense. If he causes locker room problems, who cares. We're already losing, and our coach is on his way out the door. The Panthers owe it to Smitty to get someone to get the pressure off him for once in his career. And it might be a way management can show the fans they care. There are no negatives.

David I

Absolutely sign Randy. This should be a no brainer. It doesn't matter what the Panthers record is now. The simple fact is Randy would make this team better, period. Other then Smitty, the Panthers don't have a WR that even comes close to the talent Randy has. This team has been searching for a #2 WR for several years now and here is a legitimate #1 just sitting there.

If the Panthers get the chance to sign him and don't, it is a very clear indication they have absolutely no desire to make this team better. As a fan, that is completely unacceptable.

Nevdog

Why would we bother? We might get to be 4-12. Big deal. Would rather lose the rest of our games and get the best first round pick possible for the new coach ! Our season is done!!!Or did we trade away another first pick ?? LOL

charlesbright

They can't sign randy moss. Steve Smith won't let them.

Amazed

If Moss would sign here his is riches to rags story would be complete. Maybe spawn a book.... Patriots to Panthers. One mans journey from the best to the worst in the NFL.

BullCityDog

Oh yeah, that's going to work well. Hey, Randy, come down to Carolina, and play for a bad run-first offense with no quarterback that can get you the ball.

I mean, how can this possibly fail? Someone go check, I think Moss is outside the Panthers office right now waiting to be let in.

 hillbillyluv

i think they should sign free agent SNOOKIE

Chris

Ah, the obligatory "we should sign __________ free agent that suddenly became available" column. So predictable.

Wayne D

Are you all NUTS?!!! Role model for the young receivers?!!! How would you like a street bum to be a role model for your children? This is about the same idea! Moss is a pouty little baby, who only tries when he feels like it. On a pathetic team like this year's Panthers, it would take him about 1 quarter to sit in the middle of the field and whine about wishing he were back on the Vikings... or maybe wishing he were back in his mama's arms. You don't need to bring in a loser to try to stop being losers! Get real, everyone!!!

tim

Makes too much sense Tom.

Dug E Fresh

First and Foremost, JR isn't paying $3.3 million to anyone for the rest of the season who is not already on the Panthers team. Richardson's hiding all of his money in his mattress. He doesn't care about the 2010 season, nor the 2011 season. I understand it is a business to him, but it's about pride, success, and fun for everyone else who is a Panther fan! JR could care less about the fan! Tom, you know you saw what the 2010 season held from a mile away. You just couldn't really publish your real thoughts without making everyone else mad.
