My car is running funny. Know what the problem is. C-post.
Chad Knaus, crew chief for Jimmie Johnson, has been suspended for six races and fined $100,000 for using an illegal C-post. The C-post isn't illegal in the sense that you can be pulled for one on East Boulevard, Freedom Drive or I-485. It was modified in a fashion not approved by NASCAR.
I have no idea what a C-post is. So I did what reporters do. I typed C-post into my search engine and learned that a C-post is:
A component post that leads to digital excellence; the Chicago Project on Security and Terrorism; the Kansas Commission on Peace Officers' Standards and Training.
It also is a piece of sheet metal that connects the roof to the rear corner panel.
I wonder, over the years, how many illegal parts Knaus has been accused of or caught using? If money gets tight during the suspension, especially with the $100,000 fine, he could open a garage: The Knaus House of Illegal Parts.
I'd let him use my garage, but it's not big enough.

How can a sports writer in Charlotte NC, the home base of Nascar, not know something as obvious as what c-posts are? Your own car has them! No wonder there have been no replies to this column. If you don't know much about Nascar and write for the Charlotte newspaper/website no one will pay you much mind. Write about synchronized swinning, you probably know as little about that but your viewership may increase.
