The build-up to tonight's NBA draft has been compelling. Always interesting to project -- this guy will be good, this guy will be great, don't touch this guy. We usually make more of the players coming into the league than they are. We do the same in the NFL. Doesn't make either draft any less entertaining.
Heard one analyst this morning talk about how impressed he was with North Carolina's Harrison Barnes. Heard another say he was not impressed. I made my mind up about Barnes long before the draft. He's a jump shooter. You do not invest the second pick in the draft on a jump shooter, and the Charlotte Bobcats won't. But if they trade down...
Alas, there has been enough build-up, enough learned guesses, enough wild guesses, enough scenarios. I want Michael Kidd-Gilchrist or Bradley Beal in Charlotte. I'd love to see Charlotte add a second first-round pick, but not at the expense of losing Kidd-Gilchrist or Beal or even Thomas Robinson.
Will be a long night, and an interesting night, and when it ends we'll know a lot more about the decision-making abilities of the Bobcat braintrust than we do now.
Enjoy it.

Draft MKG...Barnes can't play.
Now to my other site for charlotte news... The Charlotte John Blog baby!!!!

Tom is correct...and JP is a freakin' IDIOT!
No to a jump shooter...not a scorer, but a shooter. Wal-Mart Tar Heel fans are different than UNC graduates, or so I hope. Harrison Barnes is a Marvin Williams/ Grant Hill clone...and no one ever won jack with either of them.
I want the pick to be Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, but the Cats are going to choose Robinson.

Tom my pick is going to be Thomas Robinson, because he is mature. Going Foward, he is a gritty player who knows how to score, rebound, and play some defense in Dunlap's new system! Plus, I want to see them bring in another good pick whether if it is from the 1st or 2nd round!

Head to Head
MKG 17pts (6-10)and 11 boards
Barnes 14pts (5-12 fg)and 2 boards (no FT ...means he can't take quality guys to the rim)
Against KU- 5-14 13 pts... 0-5 3pt 4 reb (AWESOME)
No one in the ACC could match with him and he still wasn't great. 2nd pick my A#$.

It does not matter if the Boobcats had the Top 10 picks in this draft, they will stink next year and for the 3 years they are in Charlotte before they head out West to Seattle. SUPERSONICS!

Bad this is the most exciting time each year..cannot win but can always get excited about the lottery pick.. does not make much dfference who they get, will be here a couple years and then traded.

UNC Grad and I would pass on Barnes (@2nd pick). I will puke if they take Robinson at 2 as well, he could be a decent asset on a really good team, does NOTHING for this team. There's a reason OKC and other teams are ready to trade current good players (e.g. Harden) to get Beal. At least take an asset that you potentially can bargin for down the road. Barnes/Robinson will provide you maybe 2 more wins, +/- 2. MKG/Beal, 4 wins +/- 4.

Its really funny about iadnins. After 96 world cup it is a habit that Sri Lankan team throw them out of multi nation tournements. In Asian cup also iadnins last match is against Sri Lanka.I really feel soory for them. Best thing for india is playing their own country.the pitches are made for them.out of their country indian team is nothing.I hope atleast they will win 2 t20 matches against zimbabwe. After that they can think about making a good fight against Sri Lanka.
