I love the full-page ad Ryan Kalil took out in Wednesday's Charlotte Observer. Just think: If every pro athlete in every city took out a full-page ad in the local newspaper we'd never have to lay anybody off again.
Kalil is a bright guy and the ad reflects that.
The ad is entitled: Why the Carolina Panthers will win Super Bowl XLVII.
Despite the premise, I don't find it brash. Kalil believes. And he was willing to let everybody -- teammates, employers, fans, media -- know how strongly.

Ryan Kalil...giving people a reason to open the newspaper for the first time since the late 90's.

Ya know, Realist, who cares about negativity? We ALL know that the Panthers probably won't go there. However, most teams are one QB injury away from being average anyway. So you never know, and for me, I'm happy to see players fired up and ready to go after it. Better that than negativity. So please go back in your dark hole.

Just what we need, another pathetic Falcons dork on here posting because the suckfest that is Matty Freeze-up doesnt give them anything to post about....
Posted by: manu4t | July 25, 2012 at 11:37 AM
Too bad Matty has never won a playoff game....falcons are just hype...this team will sweep the lame birds

I have been a Panthers fan since they started back in "1996" and in all the years of watching them play I have not seen as much enthusiam as I did last year since "1996". No one thought they would go to the playoffs in their first year but they did. No one thought they would make it to the SuperBowl in "2003" but they did. I believe they are on the road to the SuperBowl this year. Watch the determination and the zeal for the game when they play this year you will not be surprised, I NEVER AM! You go GUYS show them all wrong.

@ Robin, also the Panthers started in '95, not "1996" (why the quotations?)

ATL BABY, THERES NOT TO MUCH ROOM TO TALK. YOU NEED TO LOOK AT NUMBERS BEFORE OPENING OYUR MOUTH ABOUT THINGS. TALKING ABOUT CHASING RINGS. BOTH PANTHERS AND FALCONS HAVE BEEN TO THE SUPERBOWL ONCE. AND WE LOST BY FEWER POINTS THE YOU GUYS HAVE.
IN THE LAST THREE TIMES YOU HAVE MADE IT YOU HAVE LOST THE FIRST ROUND. WHERE EVERY TIME WE'VE MADE IT WE HAVE ALL BUT ONE TIME MADE IT TO THE NFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME. DO YOUR HOMEWORK BEFORE YOU TRY TO TALK.
Posted by: PANTHERSFAN4LIFE | July 25, 2012 at 03:09 PM
HERES THE NUMBERS FOR YOU ATL BABY.
ATL HAS ONLY BEEN TO THE PLAYOFFS ONE MORE TIME THEN CAROLINA AND WON THE DIVISION ONLY ONE MORE THEN CAROLINA.
AND THIS IS INCLUDING THAT YOU HAVE BEEN IN THE NFL SINCE 1966 AS OPPOSE TO CAROLINA 1995. WHICH IS A 29 YEAR DIFFERENCE. ATL HAD A 29 YEAR JUMP AND HAVENT DONE NOTHING, SO TO YOU @ATL BABY AND TO @REALIST; LOOK AT THE HISTORY TO KNOW YEAH IF WE HAVE A RIGHT TO THINK IT CAN BE DONE. ITS BEEN DONE BEFORE IN THE LAST TEN YEARS. ATL DIDNT MAKE THEIR FIRST SUPERBOWL APPEARANCE UNTIL 1998 .32 YEARS AFTER BEING ESTABLISH.
CAROLINA 2003. THATS ONLY 8YEARS AFTER BEING ESTABLISH.
ATLANTA FALCONS -1966
Conference championships (1)
NFC: 1998
Division championships (4)
NFC West: 1980, 1998
NFC South: 2004, 2010

CAROLINA PANTHERS -1995
Conference championships (1)
NFC: 2003
Division championships (3)

Go away Falcon fans, and start crowing when Matty Ice (the master of undeserved hype, just ahead of Tony Romo and light-years ahead of Cam) actually wins a playoff game. Playoff appearances with little to show for it are the ATL specialty, apparently (see Braves, Atlanta). Carolina hasn't had recent success against the Falcons, true, but the Falcons aren't exactly postseason monsters (far from it, first-round fodder is more like it). The best thing about ATL now happens to reside in Charlotte, and his name is Cam Newton. Didn't know your city would contribute to it's own slink back into NFL obscurity, did you? A place, I might add, that you owned for the better part of 30 years, yes? That's gotta hurt, for sure, so we Panther fans understand your insecurity.
Posted by: Panther Dan | July 25, 2012 at 03:57 PM
You tell em' Dan. Cam is the real deal and will be even better this year. Sure teams will key in more on his moves as opposed to last year and I'd hope he dont end up like Freeman of Tampa, be real good his 2nd year then have a slump. Cam will not and should not have a slump and should he go down with injury, we have a heck of a backup. Should that backup go down....well....I'd go with Armanti before Clausen. I think we'll be alright this year.

I don't give a rats ars. Who is complaining about this? is this the eealgs front office trying to make another excuse for NEVER winning a superbowl in the history of this BS team? F' them I am sick and tired after 52 years of the bullsht. 52 years of these morons telling us finishing the year with a win(instead of a higher draft pick) is the best thing you can do. well, guess what I have 52 years of proof that that is BS. I want Andys had. put a hoody on him and march him down around miami would you. Yea, F' you too. I don't give a rats ars what you think of me. I have more football knowledge in my little pinky then this whole city of losers combined. And that boso' the clown looking owner you have there. that liberal faag needs to get back to football and not worrying about his team getting some trophy from zimbobway. what the hell do i care if a broke ars country that can't even feed itself of make it's own shoes thinks our football team is great. Hell, I'll bet you that whole office over there was set up and run by the Beagles. so they could give themselfs a trophy. And don't get me started about Juan. but let me just say HE BLOWS. and no im not even coming close to describing how bad i think he really is. Jesus what team in the history of sports has ever hired a complete idiot like that before? In conclusion i hope they all choke on the lie that is EAGLES PRO' football. Die mother F's Die.

this is the Colts @ Pats game at 4pm. Pats are a divisional rival so the FOX sotaitn acknowledges they will not maximize their potential viewers by airing the Bucs game against the Colts-Pats game so they have to air an early game. The Colt @ Pats is a game circled when the schedule comes out. It draws many fans to watch that game that otherwise wouldnt watch a football game if it wasnt with their local team.Of the early FOX games you have a good number of people with Midwest connections who live in the Miami/West Palm region where they have been long time NFC North fans or lived there and retired down south so they want to see the division rivalry game. On the latter comment:North carolina especially has had longtime Redskins fans before the Panthers came to being. South Carolina is split between Atlanta and Washington in terms of long time fan base. The Redskins will draw viewers to the game that otherwise wouldnt watch. Raleigh area in particular have a big size washington sports team fan base. See a Capitals @ Hurricanes NHL game in Raleigh where you will have around 40% of the fans at the game are for the Capitals.Raleigh would prefer not to be a secondary market to the Panthers given their distance (175 miles) is a 3 hr drive. The NFL approved such designation because they figured like college football the pro game would draw fans from 3-4 hrs away to see games. Also Raleigh has numerous other transplants from the northeast and midwest who are fans of those teams. The other problem with the Falcons game is that its a late game running directly against the Colts-Pats game (see above again as to why).

Console yourself with the fact that Eagles have got a stonrg roster. Moreover, as usual, you have about a million draft picks, so you should be able to do something about the team's biggest problem, the linebacking corps. You've got one of the best running backs in the league. Perhaps the best after Peterson's injury and Johnson got paid. You've got a good o-line, some decent receivers and Andy Reid has managed to turn Mike Vick into an NFL quarterback. You've got great pass rushers on your defensive line, and a talented secondary. Your defensive co-ordinator is a good coach who unsurprisingly struggled when asked to switch from the o-line to defensive co-ordinator in a year with a drastically abbreviated off-season. This year will be his second year. He will have had a full off-season and your defense was already starting to look pretty sound by the end of last season. This schedule should also put a useful chip on everyone's shoulder and prevent the sort over-confidence that looked like an issue at the begining of last season.

They finally deicedd to drop the bomb on Brett Farve. I do feel bad for him though.Looking to weeks ahead: Week 13FOX has the DH, so I hope the early game we get in So Cal is 49ers @ Packers and NOT NFC East game. I would have also taken Falcons @ Bucs in the early spot, but I looked at the schedule and that game was moved to 4:15 PM, so I think Tampa will sell-out the game. I think people have had it up to here with the Cowboys, but that's too bad because ATL/TB game is now at the same time as my Raiders.Week 14Because Farve is FINISHED, I think we have a chance to see the Rams @ Saints game in LA scheduled for 4:05 PM as a FOX single game, they could send Joe Buck and Troy Aikman to that contest in New Orleans. NBC will probably not switch out of the Cowboys game, this is the only time NBC does a game at Cowboys Stadium this season, and as a result Oklahoma will get Rams @ Saints in Week 14.Week 16I hope the early FOX game is 49ers @ Rams here in LA, Cowboys play on Christmas Saturday so Oklahoma will get that game. Maybe a long shot, but who knows. NBC could flex Colts @ Raiders and move it away from being a token game, Raiders do not have a game in primetime yet and NBC loves showing the Manning Brothers. This could encourage the game to be sold-out and Bay Area is free to air NY Giants @ Packers with no blackout restrictions.

- For every homecoming game we have a dreffient theme ( 08 was Disney themed) and the cheerleaders had their cheers centered around dreffient songs. For example 『I just can't wait to be king』 from the Lion King- We have the shirtless boys who paint numbers and names on their chests and stand out in the freezing cold- We have blackout games (Everyone wears black)- We embarass teachers and freshman at our Pep Rally every year. One kid always dresses up as our mascot = Rosie the Ram.- A lot of red, white and blue (our school colors)- The list goes on and on
