Fun to see the NBA again. Several surprises. Among them: An Atlanta team is winning.
Rough Monday night for Atlanta. Julio Jones, a great receiver, fast and physical, suffered a serious injury, the Falcons lost at home to the Jets and the Braves no longer are playing meaningful baseball.
Meanwhile, at the U.S. Cellular Center in downtown Asheville, Ramon Sessions had a good first half for the Charlotte Bobcats. Jeffery Taylor and Kemba Walker also played well.
Charlotte rookie Cody Zeller made a nice debut. His points came almost exclusively in transition. This means the Bobcats weren't running plays for him and that Zeller, all 7-feet of him, can move. Runs the court beautifully. He scored seven points and grabbed four rebounds. He added two steals and a block.
The Hawks are clinging to a 53-48 halftime lead.
