The winner:
"The Tooth Fairy told me it was a sure thing!"
-- by Henry S. Rabinovich of Matthews.
Hope springs eternal, and what better sign of spring than the Easter Bunny? And what better thing to hope for than a lottery jackpot? Ok, we can think of a few things. Reality, ethics and values may all be down the rabbit hole, but Mr. Rabinovich came up with this week's Golden Egg.
The runners-up:
"I'm spent, I'm spent, and I know we are in Lent. No time to say hello, good-bye, I played the monthly rent."
-- submitted by Geoff Nash of Davidson.
"I thought it said 'Play hare.'"
-- submitted by Scott Demo of Monroe.
"Is this the line to donate your nest egg to the State?"
-- submitted by Marcus Suttle of Marvin, NC.
"I'm just as real as your chances of winning!"
-- submitted by many, many folks.
Thanks for all your entries. Here's a sampling of some of the other better lines we received this week:
"I'm putting all my eggs in one basket!" (submitted, in one form or another, by about half our contestants)
" If you only got work one day a year, you'd give anything a shot."
"No, lady, you can't have my foot!"
"I've got to have something for the kids who are allergic to chocolate."
“It’s all for education, it won’t harm the poor, and Jim Black is innocent!”
“After we fix education, Santa has promised to help balance the budget!”
"Yeah, I'm doing it for the children!"
"Of course I know the odds, lady - us rabbits can multiply pretty good!"
"Cadbury downsized."
"The flying pigs are on the way."
"Dental bills."
"My accountant told me to diversify my portfolio."
“Contributing to childhood obesity isn’t as lucrative as it used to be.”
"Gotta pay for all these eggs somehow!"
"Hello, Alice! I'm Harvey!"
"What?!! You've never heard of great eggs-pectations?"

1. Anyone who isn't entering this month is a moron. My tail is fluffy.
2. Did you know that you're three times more likely to get struck by lighting, than meet me?

This is a Runner Up? I'm spent. I'm spent ... Does anyone think Kevin Siers Rabbit, holding an Easter Basket full of eggs, is the rabbit from Alice and Wonderland. Bizarre!
