"And this little piggy goes to Exxon!"
-- submitted by Ann Culpepper of Charlotte.
High gas prices have everyone down, but our caption contest writers are getting plenty of mileage out of an unpleasant topic. Ms. Culpepper wins this week, and while we can't afford to offer her a government-approved $100 gasoline rebate, we hope she'll enjoy the original cartoon art with her caption on it.
"It's a hybrid. It runs on eastern OR western North Carolina barbecue sauce."
-- submitted by Brent Sheppard of Morganton.
"This is our government model! The more money you put into it, the faster it goes downhill!"
-- submitted by Charles Randall of Cherryville, NC.
"The great thing about this model is that it really holds value!"
-- submitted by Jeff Dale of Charlotte.
"New car smell isn't what it used to be!"
-- submitted by Jack Page of Belmont.
