The winner:
"I don't think there is any magic left in that hat."
-- Anthony Pruitt, Gastonia
The runners-up:
"Unlike our offense, at least you"ll come to life someday."
-- George Randall, Cherryville, NC
"Must be the fourth quarter. Jake has frozen up again."
-- Mike Conrad, Huntersville
"I'm tellin' ya, there's no ace like Delhomme for the holidays!"
-- Emory Austin, Charlotte
"Keep playing like that and NONE of us may be back someday!"
-- Laura Thompson, Charlotte
Thank you for all your entries. Here's a selection of some of the other better lines we received this week:
"Don't worry, it's ok, our running game doesn't have any legs either."
"We were supposed to be hot this year!"
"Sir Burrr?"
"I’m sorry, son, but after Sunday, I don’t think an immobile quarterback with a questionable arm who collapses under the heat is the answer."
"You are as cold as our running game."
"Thumpity, Thump, Thump, Thumpity, Thump, Thump, Out of the Playoffs we go!"
"On the plus side, you've got a better arm than Jake and you're more mobile than Weinke.....but why do you always melt under pressure?"
"Every time the opposition turns up the heat you go soft on us. "
"If you don't come to life soon, our playoff hopes are gonna melt away!"
“You’ve got a snowman’s chance in Hell of making it to the playoffs now!”
“Get on in there, Frosty. You won’t melt any quicker than the rest of the team!”
“You’re in, Frosty! After all, it’s just been a make-believe season!"
"It must have been that ol' black hat, 'cause there's nothing going on under this helmet."
"Jake, I know you've been on a cold streak, but this is ridiculous!"
"Hey, someone built my emotional mirror-image!"

Not funny at all. Plenty of magic left. If not this year just wait until next. Panthers #1 ALWAYS!!

I don't understand the many references made to Frosty here. It is widely understood that Frosty had a corncob pipe and a button nose. Any disputes?

The defense is running through our offensive line like a snow plow.

Out of respect for the no smoking rule in the stadium bowl, Frosty never sports his corncob pipe on game day. And what football player wants to be seen with a button nose?
