Free to be . . . whatever

I've received a couple of inquiries this week as to whether the animal Obama is holding on the leash in this week's challenge is supposed to be a dog or, perhaps, a lion.  To be honest, I thought 'dog' when I drew it, but purposefully left off the front half of the animal to inspire readers' imaginations.  If you can make a case for it, with a suitably clever caption, it can be anything you want it to be.  That's the kind of freedom we offer you here, free of charge, at You Write the Caption.  Good luck!
