Here's a selection of some of the other better lines we received:
"This is where we keep Charlotte's road funding."
"This is where we kept reporters who weren't being nice to me."
"The view from the top can be a little scary."
"And this is the room for our stepchild, Charlotte."
“Don’t be afraid of a shortfall.”
"These bats? They cost what they cost."
"My job is to bite other people, and their job is to bite me. Just because they're not doing theirs doesn't mean I shouldn't do mine."
"When the job gets too frightening, take the Easley way out."
"At the moment the State has it leased to Dick Cheney."
"It's guano be fine."
"...and this is where the deleted emails go."
"The NCDOT Budget meetings are in session."
"And this is where we kept all of the plans for Mental Health Reform..."
Please join us again Monday, Jan. 19, for a new cartoon caption challenge.

A very funny caption, Mr Meckler. Kevin, I like the bold print below the drawing, it does a good job of separating the winner from the runnerups.

Thanks Kenneth. I am in good company with the competition. I enjoy the contest and enjoy reading everyone else's submissions also.

Due to the inept D.O.T., a good one would be:
"This is the D.O.T. - has not changed since Cam Morrison."

Wow, there were so many good ones this week! I would've had a hard time choosing. I particularly like, "My job is to bite other people, and their job is to bite me." Several layers of meaning there!
