" 'Hollywood Dreams,' final take . . . and cut!"
-- John Bradey of Matthews
"CUT . . . job opportunities!"
-- Noor Hannosh, East Mecklenburg High School, Charlotte
"When I say 'Action!', start teaching."
-- Tom W. Flowe, Statesville
"Lights, camera, inaction!"
-- from many readers
Thanks for all your entries. I have to admit my favorite this week, however, was from a reader who complained of not knowing what to send in because the paper only printed the picture and not the words that went with it.
Here's a few more of some of the fun lines we received:
"Cut! Movie industry in Carolina fades to black . . ."
"Roll cameras. Hollywood disappearing act. Final cut."
"N.C. Japanese incentives, take one . . ."
"Film incentives? I think this is a very good compromise."
"Voting booth secure!"
"I didn't get my close-up, so I'm shutting down the film industry."
"OK, teachers, let's see some gratitude!"
Close up: What happens when you remove film incentives.
"Lights! Action! No tax break!"
"Film incentives? Try to think outside the box."
"North Carolina -- another low-budget production."
